Gideon Agar
Founder, CEO
Gideon has worked in the tech industry since 1988. In addition to management positions at Oracle and Cisco, he has held President/CEO positions at four companies, including two that leveraged advanced Artificial Intelligence technology in both optimization and deep learning to solve problems in the telecoms and Finance industries. He has also served as an executive director on the boards of seven other companies. From 2007-2010 Gideon was a managing director and COO at Patriarch Partners, a multi-billion dollar private equity fund. Gideon’s business experience encompasses a broad range of markets, geographies and company size, and touches all phases of the technology company cycle from startup to successful exit. Gideon has bachelor degrees in both Computer Science and English Literature from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Hani El-Sakkout
Founder, Consulting Chief Development Officer, PhD
Hani is a recognized expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI), with expertise in hybrid search algorithms, deep learning, and their application to intractable financial derivatives optimization problems among others. He has a rich track record of delivering commercial value through innovative research and the design and development of software applications that harness AI algorithms. Hani cofounded and headed R&D at Parc Technologies, a developer of commercial AI optimization products that was acquired by Cisco Systems. At Cisco, Hani led the cross-platform Portfolio Architecture Team reporting to the SVP of the Network Management Technology Group (“NMTG”), and was a member of the NMTG Enterprise Sector Executive Team and the Network Management Research Council.
In his academic career, Hani was the inventor of Probe Backtrack Search, and a key original contributor to ECLiPSe, a hybrid algorithm development and runtime environment that was used by thousands of academic and corporate customers. Hani is a periodic contributor at both industry and international conferences with an academic focus on AI search algorithm hybridization. He is the author of fifteen publications, and has been granted several US patents. He has an MSc in Foundations of Advanced IT and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Imperial College London (UK).
Vassilis Liatsos
Founder, Consulting Engineering & Architecture, PhD
Vassilis has 15 years’ experience developing commercial software applications to solve very large-scale combinatorial optimization problems. His capabilities combine hybrid algorithm development and evaluation with software engineering discipline and methodologies. As Technical Leader at Cisco, Vassilis was responsible for design and architecture of strategic and innovative network management solutions in the Enterprise sector. A cofounder of Parc Technologies, Vassilis was the lead algorithm developer for Parc’s flagship product (now Cisco’s IP Solution Center: Traffic Engineering Manager). He has been a principal reviewer at several international conferences on combinatorial optimization, and is the author of eight publications in this field. He has been granted three US patents, with others pending. Vassilis has a bachelor degree in Computing, an MSc in Foundations of Advanced IT and a PhD in Computer Science, all from Imperial College London (UK).
Michael Khouw
Consulting Chief Strategist of Optimize Advisors
Michael is a 20 year veteran of the financial services industry with broad experience as a strategist, analyst, portfolio manager and proprietary trader of equities, commodities and equity and index derivatives for both buy-side and sell-side firms.
Mike was previously a partner at Cantor Fitzgerald and a principal and managing director at CRT Capital. Mike also held senior trader positions at Bluefin Trading, LLC and Gateway Partners, LLC, both Proprietary Trading Firms based in New York, and as an analyst at Ivory Capital, a research-intensive, fundamental value-based investment firm headquartered in Los Angeles. In addition, Mike is a contributor for CNBC and the author of “The Options Edge,” and has frequent speaking engagements at conferences. Mike is a Former Member of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange Nasdaq/OMX, NYSE-AMEX, and the New York Mercantile Exchange. Mike holds a B.A. from Tufts University.
Andrew De Feo
Founder, Consulting Business Development Managing Director
Andrew began working with Tradelegs in 2011 in a partnership role while he was on the Electronic and Algorithmic Trading desk at Goldman Sachs. He helped coordinate a commercial agreement between Tradelegs and Goldman, and worked closely with the Tradelegs team in the early stages of development for Tradelegs Derivatives Strategist. Andrew subsequently joined Tradelegs full time to help establish its business development team. His deep risk management expertise has influenced Tradelegs’ advanced liquidity handling, user experience, and expanding product suite. Andrew works closely with clients to analyze their trading strategies and help them leverage the Tradelegs software to the fullest extent.
Prior to joining Tradelegs, Andrew was the Chief Risk/Compliance Officer for Pico Quantitative Trading’s low latency trading systems and analytics. Andrew began his career at Goldman Sachs Execution and Clearing. He was appointed Co-Head of Risk for Electronic and Algorithmic Trading in 2009 and head of Business Development for Canada, Latin America and Futures Risk in 2012. He also served as Co-Supervisor for Goldman’s Sigma X Liquidity Pool and Sigma Smart Router for the US. Andrew graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in Government in 2005. Andrew has his Series 7, 3, 63, 55 and 24 licenses.
Shengyou Zeng
Consulting Quality Assurance Manager, PhD
Shengyou has worked in software engineering for 16 years. He has first-hand experience in software architecture design, development, solutions development, and quality assurance. As a Technical Leader at Cisco, in addition to software engineering responsibilities, Shengyou represented Cisco on industry standards organizations, including CableLabs and IETF.
Shengyou was the lead author of DOCSIS 3.0’s security standard, as well as lead author or co-author of 5 other networking standards. He was a recipient of the Cisco Pioneer Award, the highest technological award in Cisco, and has been granted 6 US patents. Shengyou holds a B.S. from Beijing Normal University, an M.S. from the University of Massachusetts, and a Ph.D. from the University of Maine.
